Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She founded The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website, is a television personality, author, and an philanthropist. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Following her graduation, she became a prominent conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their thoughts regarding politics and culture. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall vote in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient vehicles. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, gaining 12th position on the list. That same year Guardian included her in the Top 100 Media List. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. Though she was close with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her entire life. At a young age she showed her leadership skills for which she's still known.
