April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players to achieve this feat. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll attempt to claim her third Olympic medal alongside first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. As she turns 39, it could be her last opportunity to claim an Olympic gold medal. However, she remains optimistic that most prestigious prizes are just a few steps away. If we perform at our very best and even perform well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Then I will also take the chance to have luck. Ross was born in 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her sisters and parents, was the first to begin participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High school. Ross went on to play in many sports at Newport Harbor High School. Along with the indoor game, she played track and basketball as professional athletes. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. During her high school career she was a middle blocker, outside setting and hitter on the volleyball court, according to her college bio. Thanks to her hard work she was honoured as the 1999 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are working together from the year 2017. In reality, Ross was already an established player on the scene of beach volleyball before Klineman and Ross joined forces. She has won major events twice, with various partners. A couple of those has become an iconic player in the world of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013, she was a team together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross, she was a major force in the international scene, winning the world championship in 2009. They took home a Silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold winning over them. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. The team won bronze at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics the year 2016. Ross was part of the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated her high school. Ross's Trojans experience was outstanding. As a freshman in 2000 she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also earned an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal defeat in her sophomore year, but she still repeated her place as an All-American. Through her final two years with the Trojans they helped succeed in winning consecutive championships. Individually she had cemented herself as a legendary player receiving the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross graduated with a degree in foreign relations and international affairs at USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter climb to the top of the field in volleyball. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Yet, she is able to hold her lost parent near and dear. Also, Margie remains a source of motivation for her at the beach as well as in everyday life.
