Zoe Saldana (born June 19, 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana and Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. Her father was Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. Her mother is Puerto Rican and her father is Dominican. Her family relocated from Queens, New York in the Dominican Republic when she was 10, and lived in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe began to develop a love for performance dance when she lived in Dominican Republic. The prestigious ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy Zoe took ballet classes and various other dance styles. Not only did her training provide an excellent outlet for the energetic and enthusiastic youngster and her family, but it was also proving as a great prelude for the start of the professional career of an actor.
