Rubi Rose Benton was born on October 2 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was raised by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother, who is who is an Eritrean dentist immigrant from Ethiopia, and John Benton, her father, who is an attorney with Japanese, African American and European descent.
