
Jessica Michelle Chastain, born on the 24th of March, 1977, is an American actress. She is most well-known for her role in films with feminist themes. She has won a variety of awards which include an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals around the world in 2012. Chastain started acting as a child. In 1998, she made her professional debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending acting classes at Juilliard School, she was offered a talent deal by John Wells. She was a frequent guest star on numerous television shows and played several roles in stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) when she was 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough by releasing six films including The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011) as well as The Tree of Life (2012). She was considered for Academy Award nominations as a part in The Help (2011), in which she played an aspirational socialite, and Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as an CIA analyst. Commercial success was greater with the science fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), and the horror movie It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was also praised for playing strong-willed women in the dramas The Most violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), and Molly's Game (2017), and the miniseries for television Scenes from a Marriage (2021). After her role as Tammy Faye Bakker, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress as well as Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21) and Tammy Wynette from The Eyes of Tammy-Faye. Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on mental health issues, as the issue of gender and race equality. She is married to fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo who she is with
